Paraic Hegarty has been appointed by Enterprise Ireland to be expert facilitator of the Financial Services GRC Competence Centre (GRC3).
The Competence Centres Programme, was launched in March 2007, inviting Expressions of Interest from groups of companies interested in forming a consortium to lead and participate in a Competence Centre initiative.
The key to the role is the development of an Industry-led Research Agenda, consisting of an agreed, prioritised set of generic research challenges which, if successfully met, should lead to commercial outputs for the company group and the wider technology or sectoral area.
The contract award was based on these criteria:
(i) Technical and business knowledge in Financial Services and related fields
(ii) Skills in consensus building across companies
(iii) Understanding of the challenges associated with the commercialisation of new technologies
(iv) Appropriate knowledge of research capabilities within the higher education system in Ireland
(v) Track record in research agenda development
(vi) Clear verbal and written communication skills
